Overview
Embracing Culture, Community, and Holistic Care. Tsi Thonwatíhsnye’s Long Term Care is located in the heart of Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, offering 128 beds surrounded by beautifully landscaped grounds just minutes from Belleville. Our commitment is to provide Elders and community members with a place of comfort, dignity, and belonging close to family, community, culture and on the land.
Our one-story home features four resident areas, each with its own dining room, lounge, and activity space, creating a warm and supportive environment. At the heart of the building, a welcoming central atrium opens to therapy and recreation rooms, a spiritual space, and bright gathering areas for families and cultural programming. Outside, residents can enjoy secure gardens and walking paths designed to encourage connection with nature, storytelling, and ceremony. What makes this home truly special is its commitment to First Nations culture and community identity. From traditional foods and ceremonies to language and cultural activities, daily life here will honour the teachings and heritage of the Mohawk people. Our Elders are knowledge keepers, and this home is built to ensure they live in a space that uplifts and celebrates that role.
Care plans are tailored to respect individual traditions, languages, and spiritual beliefs. Our staff work closely with residents, families, and community partners to ensure that everyone’s unique preferences and backgrounds are reflected in their daily care. This includes observing particular spiritual practices, celebrating important cultural milestones, and supporting connections to family and community. Our approach ensures that care is as individual as each resident.
At Tsi Thonwatihsntes’s, culture, care, and community are woven into every aspect of life. We invite you to discover a place where you truly belong, are supported and embraced for all that you are.
